Brian
has been a Director of Photography for almost 25 years.
He studied film production at The Rhode Island School of
Design (RISD) and is known for his lighting and hand held
work. He has both an MFA in film production as well as
a BFA in Photography from RISD.
Brian
has shot film and videotape regularly for television
(PBS, national and international networks), feature films,
commercials, and corporate presentations. His PBS credits
include many NOVA, American
Experience and Frontline films.
Recent
productions have included the award winning series, THE
RISE AND FALL OF JIM CROW, and CANCER WARRIOR for NOVA.
His documentary films range from verite shooting of refugees
in Thailand (for Refugees International) to portraying
painstaking scientific trials in a laboratory (Cancer Warrior).
He
has worked with crews, large and small for studio productions
and location work. He has extensive experience on water
and in aerial production. His expertise includes shooting
for green screen & special effects, shooting with pyrotechnics
and stunt performances.
Brian
shoots in all motion picture formats including, HD, 35mm, Super16mm,
DVcam and mini DV. He operates Jimmy Jibs and other remote
arms, Tyler aerial mounts, and his hand held work includes
skating and skiing.
