Biography Perspective

 

Brian has been a Director Of Photography for 25 years.  He studied film production at The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and is recognized for his lighting design and hand held work.  He has both an MFA in film production and a BFA in Photography from RISD.

Brian has shot film and video for PBS, and many other networks, national and international, as well as for feature films, commercial and corporate presentations.  His  credits include dozens of films for NOVA, FRONTLINE and AMERICAN EXPERIENCE., and specials like THE RISE AND FALL OF JIM CROW. 

 

His documentary films range from verite portraits and social commentary to work with lighting design for painstaking, scientific trials in laboratories.He has worked with crews, large and small, for studio productions in tandem with location work.  He has extensive experience on water, rough terrain, and in aerial production.  His expertise includes shooting for green screen & special effects, and shooting with pyrotechnics and stunt performances. He has operated with remote jibs and motion control mounts.
